Terms and Agreements
Last Updated: August 25, 2026
Welcome to The Optimization Lab (OptiLab). By accessing our website, subscribing to The Engine, registering for The Academy, requesting a Consultation, or applying for and participating in the 1:1 OptiLab Experience, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Agreements.
1. Medical Disclaimer (CRITICAL REQUIREMENT)
The Optimization Lab and Coach Nathan Carvalho do not practice medicine, do not provide medical services, and do not prescribe medical treatments.
All concepts, calculators, biological mapping models, hormone guides, peptide protocols, and dietary suggestions developed during coaching, consultations, or community forums are intended strictly for educational, fitness, athletic performance, and nutritional optimization purposes.
The materials provided do not constitute medical advice and must not be used to replace professional medical diagnosis or treatment. Always consult a qualified, licensed physician or medical professional before implementing any supplementation, hormone adjustment, peptide protocol, or intense physical training program.
Consulting and educational services only. All services provided by The Optimization Lab, including consultations, The Academy, The Engine, and The OptiLab Experience, are consulting and educational services only. They are not medical services, do not constitute the practice of medicine, and do not create a doctor-patient, clinician-patient, or any other professional care relationship between you and The Optimization Lab or Nathan Carvalho.
Educational and informational purposes only. All content we publish or provide, including anything on this website, in our communities, in our courses, in our recordings, in our written material, and across our social media, is provided for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing we provide is a diagnosis, a treatment plan, a prescription, or a recommendation to start, adjust, or discontinue any medication, hormone, peptide, or supplement.
Your decisions remain yours. You are solely responsible for your own decisions and for consulting a qualified, licensed physician before acting on anything you learn from us. We do not supervise, monitor, direct, or accept responsibility for how you implement any information provided, and we make no guarantee of any particular outcome.
2. Registration and Eligibility
To apply for our programs or purchase access to The Engine, you must:
- Provide completely honest, accurate, and current information, especially regarding physical diagnostics, medical histories, and drug use.
- Acknowledge that submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the 1:1 coaching partnership.
- Accept that OptiLab reserves the right to refuse service or terminate enrollment of any client at our discretion if we determine our programs are physiologically unsafe or a misalignment of expectations.
- Confirm that you are 18 years of age or older. Applicants under 18 may participate only with a parent or legal guardian, who must attend all consultation and coaching calls and sign all agreements on the applicant's behalf.
- Accept that you are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that takes place under your access.
3. Payments, Subscriptions, and Cancellation
The following conditions apply to consultations, The Engine, The Academy, and The OptiLab Experience.
Pre-Call Review Policy. Consultations require completed payment and submission of all requested documents and files before a session can be scheduled. Nathan Carvalho reviews them in advance, and sessions cannot be booked until that review is finalized.
The Academy. Enrollment is billed as an annual tuition payment followed by ongoing recurring membership. Founding members pay 3,000 USD for the first year and 250 USD every 4 weeks thereafter. Standard enrollment is 4,000 USD for the first year and 300 USD every 4 weeks thereafter. Recurring membership begins after the first year and continues until canceled.
The Engine. Membership is billed as a recurring subscription through our membership platform at the rate shown at the time of purchase, on a 28 day cycle, and continues until canceled.
The OptiLab Experience. Payment terms, duration, and cancellation for The OptiLab Experience are governed by the separate coaching agreement entered into between you and The Optimization Lab. Where that agreement and these Terms differ, that agreement governs.
Refunds. All sales are final. Payments for consultations, The Academy, The Engine, and The OptiLab Experience are non-refundable in whole or in part, including partial billing periods, except where a refund is required by law.
Cancellation.
- The Engine may be canceled at any time. Access continues to the end of the paid billing period and does not renew after that.
- The Academy requires 30 days written notice sent to supportdesk@theoptilab.com. Billing continues through the notice period. Access ends when the notice period ends.
- The OptiLab Experience is canceled in accordance with your separate coaching agreement.
Notice is effective on the date we receive it. Canceling stops future billing and does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid.
Termination by us. We may suspend or terminate your access at our discretion, including where you breach these Terms, where continued participation is unsafe, or where expectations are materially misaligned. Amounts already paid remain non-refundable.
4. Intellectual Property and Confidentiality
All material we produce and provide remains our exclusive property and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. This includes lectures, recordings, handouts, bibliographies, slide decks, protocol libraries, physiological maps, calculators, written protocols, course curricula, community discussions, and any other content made available through this website, The Engine, The Academy, The OptiLab Experience, or any platform we use to deliver them.
Your membership, enrollment, or engagement grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use this material for your own education and your own use. It grants you nothing else. No ownership passes to you at any point.
You may not, and may not permit any other person to:
- Copy, record, screenshot, download, transcribe, or otherwise reproduce our material, except where we have explicitly provided it for download
- Share, republish, distribute, post, sell, resell, license, or make our material available to any person who is not a current paying member, by any means, including private messages, file sharing, screen sharing, screen recording, or social media
- Share your account credentials, or allow any other person to access our platforms using your access
- Use our material to build, teach, promote, or deliver a competing product, course, community, or coaching service
- Remove, obscure, partially or fully capture, hide, or alter any attribution, watermark, or notice of ownership
These obligations apply to material obtained from every platform we use, and they survive the termination of your membership or engagement.
Unauthorized copying or distribution of our material constitutes copyright infringement. We reserve every right and remedy available to us at law and in equity, including injunctive relief, statutory and actual damages, an account of profits, recovery of our legal costs, and referral to the appropriate authorities for criminal prosecution where the law provides for it. We further reserve the right to terminate your access immediately and without refund, and to pursue recovery of the full value of the material accessed.
Information disclosed by other members inside our communities, calls, and discussions is confidential. You may not share, republish, or disclose another member's personal or performance information outside the platform on which it was shared.
5. Assumption of Risk
You voluntarily choose to participate in physical training, nutritional pivots, supplementation calibration, and performance enhancement protocols suggested by OptiLab. You acknowledge that you fully understand the physiological risks, endocrine changes, and metabolic stressors involved and assume all associated liabilities.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Optimization Lab, Coach Nathan Carvalho, and its officers or employees shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, injury, health deterioration, or adverse reaction resulting from your participation in our programs or your implementation of the information found on this website.
7. Governing Law
These Terms and Agreements are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which The Optimization Lab is registered, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.
